The John A. Gans Scholarship
The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Foundation has this incredible program for students pursuing a career in pharmacy.
This scholarship is in honor of John A. Gans, former president of the Pennsylvania
As long as those students are "food-focused candidates of exceptional talent".
This scholarship is aimed at students who are pursuing a career in the field of food security, agriculture, hospitality, culinary arts, and other food-related areas.
How to Apply

There are some basic rules, however (don't we just love rules? YAY!)
Students have to complete, at least, one academic year in the professional sequence of courses.
- At least have a grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale while attending a pharmacy school.
- Be active in the APhA Academy of Student Pharamcists.
- Submit your academic transcript
- Include two letters of recommendation
- Include current resume and cover letter
- An essay of 500 words or less on the topics of what made you proud to be a student pharmacist and why? And how does your involvement in this organization can be used to improve patient care in the future?
