Asian Woman in Business Scholarship

The Asian Women in Business (AWIB) Scholarship recognizes outstanding Asian female students who exhibit leadership, entrepreneurship, scholarship, and/or community service.

AWIB have sponsored seminars, conferences, networking opportunities, and skills building workshops

They also serve as a way for Asian women to connect with other Asian women and business owners.

The AWIB scholarship is a $2,500 award given one time to undergraduates who have completed at least one semester.

How to Apply

To be eligible you must:
  • be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
  • fully complete and sign the AWIB scholarship application
  • submit one professional recommendation
  • have a minimum of 3.0 (out of 4.0) GPA
  • provide the most recent college transcript
  • be enrolled full-time in an accredited four-year undergraduate program in the U.S.

The John A. Gans Scholarship


The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) Foundation has this incredible program for students pursuing a career in pharmacy.

This scholarship is in honor of John A. Gans, former president of the Pennsylvania

As long as those students are "food-focused candidates of exceptional talent".

This scholarship is aimed at students who are pursuing a career in the field of food security, agriculture, hospitality, culinary arts, and other food-related areas.

How to Apply

There are some basic rules, however (don't we just love rules? YAY!)

Students have to complete, at least, one academic year in the professional sequence of courses.

  • At least have a grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.0 scale while attending a pharmacy school.
  • Be active in the APhA Academy of Student Pharamcists.
  • Submit your academic transcript
  • Include two letters of recommendation
  • Include current resume and cover letter
  • An essay of 500 words or less on the topics of what made you proud to be a student pharmacist and why? And how does your involvement in this organization can be used to improve patient care in the future?

National Scholars Program

From the James Beard Foundation you have the National Scholars Program which was launched in 2016.

The National Scholars Program looks to award 10 students $20,000 each.

As long as those students are "food-focused candidates of exceptional talent".

This scholarship is aimed at students who are pursuing a career in the field of food security, agriculture, hospitality, culinary arts, and other food-related areas.

Since its inception the James Beard Foundation has awarded over $7 million to over 1,850 recipients.

Scholarships are granted between April 1st and May 15st.

How to Apply

General rules for applying are pretty straight forward. Students should should know which school they plan on attending. They should have their transcripts if they are a senior in high school or in post-secondary school.

Know which discipline you wish to study. Students should have their SAT/ACT scores available.

Something students may or may not be used to is listing their paid work experience, school, and community volunteer activities.

Students should have a statement of their professional goals and aspirations, any unusual personal or family circumstances, and a brief essay pertaining to this scholarship.

Don't forget to submit the application appraisal form and financial data sheet that is part of the application.

Society of Exploration Geophysicists

Society of Exploration Geophysicists (SEG) has been around since 1930.
They task themselves with bringing forward the science of exploration geophysics, encouraging similar scientific interests, assisting with humanitarian efforts, and propelling geophysical innovation.
SEG is a global organization, headquatered in Tulsa, Oklahoma, with locations in Beijing, China and Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

How to Apply

To apply, students must submit an application online, first.
The SEG scholarship awards between $500-$14,000 USD per academic year. The average awards granted are around $2,500.
Make sure you include, at least, two faculty members who have consented to being a reference.
You have to include your current transcripts.
The timeline for submitting the application is one of the added benefits, in the sense that it is detailed.
From October 1st to March 1st applications are accepted. From mid-March to May a review board of geophysicists independently evaluate and rank each application.
Once a consensus is met top ranking applicants are matched with available scholarships. In which, those applicants are notified in June.

The Next Generation Teacher Scholarship

For those who would like to pursue a teacher career in Indiana this scholarship is for you.

According to there website the State of Indiana awards 200 scholarships each year to high school and college students who intends to pursue a career in education.

This program grants $7,500 each year for four years.

Order Sons of Italy in America

The oldest and largest national organization of Italian heritage in the nation, the Order Sons of Italy in America was established in 1905 to promote the Italian culture in American schools.

They have promoted the equal rights of women and men in the organization since the beginning. Women make up half of the membership and have held a position at each level, including state president.

The Sons of Italy Foundation (SIF) has given roughly $61 million in scholarships to U.S. citizens of Italian decent. This programs has between 10 - 12 merit-based scholarships that offer between $4,000 - $25,000.

There is an application fee associated with this. The fee is $35 and non-refundable.
