Hungry for Education

In classic fashion, the Tom Joyner Foundation not only offer you one scholarship but two! They have partnered with national full-service restaurant chain, Denny's Corporation, to offer you the Hungry for Education scholarship.

This program is offering a $1,250 scholarship to 20 students from a list of HBCU's. Unfortunately, we don't have this list but Neil Foote would have more information.

The Hungry for Education scholarship officially went online on September 1, 2016 and ends December 1, 2016. Students must have a cumulative GPA of, at least, 2.5.

In 2013, Denny's established the Hungry for Education program and has granted more than $250,000 in total to students in elementary through college.

"We're incredibly proud to have worked with the Tom Joyner Foundation for so many years." said Director of Diversity Affairs at Denny's Corporation, April Kelly-Drummond. "We're committed, like Tom and his Foundation, to help these students complete their educations and celebrate all the great work they're doing in their communities."

The website doesn't go into the eligibility, but you have to submit the same information you would submit for the Full Ride scholarship. As for the essay, you are required to submit a 200-word essay describing "your most memorable community service or activity in the past year to combat hunger in your community."
