The oldest and largest national organization of Italian heritage in the nation, the Order Sons of Italy in America was established in 1905 to
promote the Italian culture in American schools.
They have promoted the equal rights of women and men in the organization since the beginning. Women make up half of the membership and
have held a position at each level, including state president.
The Sons of Italy Foundation (SIF) has given roughly $61 million in scholarships to
U.S. citizens of Italian decent. This programs has between 10 - 12 merit-based scholarships that
offer between $4,000 - $25,000.

Applications are being accepted now until February 28, 2017. Any application mailed should
be postmarked by February 28, 2017.
There is an application fee associated with this. The fee is $35 and non-refundable.

To qualify, students must be a U.S. citizen who is enrolled in an undergraduate or
graduate program at a four-year, accredited university - fall semester of 2017.
